Violinist Andrea Weber Steckly enjoys a varied performance career. Her childhood violin studies began under the tutelage of Maria Riedstra, who at that time was concertmaster of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra. Andrea then continued her studies at University of Toronto and Western University, training with Gerard Kantarjian and Robert Skelton, receiving Bachelor and Master of Music in Performance degrees. She also studied briefly in Cincinnati and Vienna. As a performer, Andrea is Concert Master of the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, is a member of Leith String Quartet (, plays and sings with John B. Miller & Friends (, shreds on her 6-string, solid-body flying “V” electric violin (built by rock violinist Mark Wood) playing violin, keyboard, and vocals with a rock band called 300 Degrees (since the early 1990’s!!), and continues to freelance in a variety of situations. She has played on occasion with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and K-W Musical Productions pit orchestra and also sat as principal 2nd violin in the Stratford Symphony Orchestra for a few years.

She resides in Kitchener, Ontario, with her husband, where she has a private music studio.
